Frisco, Texas (June 18, 2015) – The 2015 Electronic Security EXPO Public Safety and Networking Luncheon in Baltimore will feature the awarding of the highly prestigious William N. Moody Award to Ron Rothman. Started in 2004 by the Security Industry Alarm Coalition (SIAC), the Moody award is given annually to an individual who demonstrates a passion for advancing positive alarm management and best industry practices.
“An industry veteran for more than three decades, Ron has devoted his career to improving the alarm industry through cutting edge technology advancements and working with dealers across the globe to enhance alarm effectiveness,” said Stan Martin, Executive Director of SIAC. “Ron has been a tireless advocate for SIAC’s mission to promote highly effective industry best practices to successfully reduce the number of false dispatches by law enforcement.”
Rothman began his career at ADEMCO and quickly advanced in the industry. As the leader of Honeywell’s global security business, Rothman was instrumental in developing alarm innovations such as VISTA and LYNX controls, AlarmNet long-range radio and Honeywell Total Connect Remote services. He was also on the forefront of integrating broadband and smartphones into security systems. Rothman retired from Honeywell in June 2015.
“The innovations championed by Ron have led to improving the awareness, comfort and conveniences of customers, while at the same time using this technology to help reduce alarm dispatches,” said Martin. “Ron is also a tremendous supporter of SIAC’s efforts to battle non-response initiatives. He is a huge asset to us and our entire industry.”
