Four New Members Named To SIAC Board

More news

FRISCO, Texas (January 24, 2012) – Four new members were recently named to the Security Industry Alarm Coalition (SIAC) Board of Directors.

The Canadian Security Association (CANASA) has appointed Don Budden of ADT Security Services and Ivan Spector of Sentinel in Montreal Canada as their SIAC representatives. Diebold's John Stroia will assume a Security Industry Association board seat and Mike Miller of Moon Security has been named by the Electronic Security Association to occupy one of their two seats.

JF Champagne, CANASA Executive Director, commented, “Ivan Spector will be returning as a very knowledgeable representative for our Association.  Don Budden, our new National President and long-time employee of ADT, is committed to SIAC, and his passion for advocacy and government relations will certainly serve SIAC well.”

“I am proud of the dedication of Karen McGee to SIAC over the last two years, and Kim Schellenberg, who has represented us for over seven years now. I am confident that the new representatives will be more than capable of taking up where they left off,” Champagne added.

“Charlie Darsch has been a dedicated supporter of SIAC since its inception, and we can’t thank him enough for his service, contributions and commitment.  His insights and ideas will be sorely missed.  We’re pleased that John Stroia has accepted our invitation to join the board, and are confident he will serve our industry well,” said Jay Hauhn, Chairman of SIA’s Board of Directors.

“Ralph Sevinor has been a valuable representative of ESA this past year and we appreciate his service. We are pleased that Mike Miller has agreed to become the new ESA representative. Mike has always been a tireless advocate of SIAC, and has helped raise funds in new ways. He will excel in his new position on the SIAC board,” said Dom D’Ascoli, President of ESA.

“We can’t thank our outgoing Board members enough for helping us keep improving industry-wide alarm management practices.  Charlie Darsch and Kim Schellenberg have had an unprecedented impact as foundational members of our board.  They have my personal respect and admiration for their unselfish willingness to serve for such a significant period of time,” said SIAC Executive Director Stan Martin.

“They are true professionals, dedicated to this industry.  We also look forward to adding the diverse talents of all four new members to the Board,” Martin added.
