Frisco, Texas (November 30, 2012) – The Security Industry Alarm Coalition (SIAC) is continuing to build a following in the important world of social media. The industry non-profit is using Twitter and its blog to share information with security companies and the law enforcement community on trends, best practices and other information that helps improve how alarm systems are managed.
“We started our social media program about two years ago, said Stan Martin, SIAC Executive Director. “By taking a pro-active approach SIAC is making sure that key decision makers have the latest information they need to make the best decisions for their public safety agencies the public they protect based on accurate and timely information on alarm issues.”
“In today’s fast changing world it is more important than ever that SIAC acts as a thought leader on alarm issues,” said Martin.
Both SIAC’s Twitter (www.twitter.com/siacinc) and blog (www.siacinc.wordpress.com) accounts have shown steady growth since being introduced in the fall of 2010. Interested followers can get additional information through social media by connecting with Stan Martin on Facebook or LinkedIn.
“The increased coverage means we’ve branched out beyond our core base to begin adding more manufacturers, software companies and other interest groups that want to hear what we have to say,” said Martin.
SIAC looks for feedback on all its social media tools, including what topics are important to readers and viewers expectations regarding what is not being delivered, and encourages Followers to get in touch either through the links above or by reaching out through its Web site, www.siacininc.org.
“If you do like what we have to say, please consider a re-tweet or adding our blog link to your website. Help us spread the word,” Martin observed.
SIAC represents one voice for the electronic security industry on alarm management issues – communicating solutions and enhancing relationships with law enforcement.
