SIAC congratulates Morgan Hertel as he begins his term as TMA (The Monitoring Association) President. Morgan assumed the position last month at the conclusion of TMA’s 2021 Virtual Annual Meeting, and serves as Vice President of Technology and Innovation for Rapid Response Monitoring.

We have known and worked with Morgan for many, many years, and know he will do a great job in this position and for electronic security monitoring companies. SIAC’s relationship with TMA has been a long and successful one. Multiple endeavors taken on by TMA over the years have moved the mission of improved alarm management standards in a positive direction.

Morgan is also a key player in the development of the AVS-01 Scoring Standard and will be the right person to see that through completion.

With Morgan at the helm, we know that evolving technology trends will be at the forefront, such as the Automated Secure Alarm Protocol (ASAP). The ASAP improves alarm response reliability and speed by processing alarm information electronically between monitoring stations and PSAPs (Public Safety Answering Point). The work TMA does in this arena continues to grow as more and more communities are processing alarm dispatches electronically.

Beyond the ASAP, we fully expect Morgan to successfully lead TMA through challenges in the years ahead, utilizing his knowledge, experience and security industry connections.  We wish Morgan all the best as he takes on some of the critical issues facing the monitoring industry in the coming years.
