The recent IACP (International Association of Chiefs of Police) meeting in San Diego exceeded attendance expectations. SIAC was there in full force, and SIAC staff met, visited with or saw the IACP President Terrence Cunningham, executive director, several past presidents and most of the Private Sector Liaison Committee (PSLC). A huge part of our success improving alarm management practices rests on relationships with these and other law enforcement officials.
Beyond the IACP, we also caught up with Shanahan award recipients and State Association of Chiefs of Police (SACOP) executive directors, presidents and members. Photos and other information can also be accessed on out Twitter and Facebook pages.
The PSLC meetings went well, with no major issues surfacing. The electronic security industry was well-represented, with several dealers in attendance. Overall, this was one of the best events in recent years, and we want to thank all who attended and helped continue to grow our collaboration with law enforcement.
The biggest testament to success of the event was the attendance at the industry reception. We estimated a crowd of 140, maybe more. The room was filled to capacity! Again, SIAC attends and sponsors these types of sessions to expand security industry relationships with law enforcement, so these large numbers are an excellent testament to officials from both sides coming together to learn from each other and solve problems proactively. Thank you to all.
