Is two-way voice communication the next big thing when it comes to reducing unnecessary? It’s certainly something we here at SIAC believe has strong promise to continue our decade-long advances in alarm management. We support technology that reduces unwanted alarm dispatches, plain and simple.

Two-way interactive voice verification is the ability for central station operators to directly communicate with customers during an event. The majority of today’s new alarm panels are two-way voice compatible. Combined with growing cellular capability, this allows customers on-the-go connectivity with the central station, an important feature for communicating about an event. Homeowners or businesses can verify an emergency with the monitoring center operator regardless of their location.

Two-way voice is an excellent choice in technology. It establishes mobile communications with the premises and directly with the user so on-site circumstances can be evaluated quickly and appropriately. Through this type of interactivity, the need for a dispatch, service or training can be determined.

Establishing communication with the user is critical when trying to determine disposition of the event. That’s why we also advocate 2-call verification to determine the need for law enforcement response.

Add video, and wow! We encourage and support these innovative and sorely needed new approaches.
