On behalf of SIAC, Major Allan Rutledge (Ret. CMPD), Law Enforcement Liaison, describes how SIAC actively builds bridges between law enforcement and the alarm industry. After Pete Peters, Executive Director of the Wisconsin Chiefs of Police Association (WCPA), attended a SIAC-sponsored SACOP luncheon, SIAC began cultivating a relationship through conference participation and a formal presentation to the WCPA Board on the Alarm Management Committee concept. That effort led WCPA to establish its own Alarm Management Committee. SIAC then served as the conduit connecting WCPA with the Wisconsin Security Association (WISA) and other industry professionals operating in Wisconsin, bringing all parties together into a collaborative, ongoing committee that now meets during WCPA’s winter and summer conferences resulting in a strong, durable working relationship between law enforcement and alarm industry.
